Polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) is a plastic which consists of 57% fluorine, the crystallinity depending on the respective thermal pretreatment of the moulded part.
Compared to all other fluoropolymers, PVDF has the highest resistance to high-energy radiation. It is also UV-resistant and is also a very pure material, which is why it is used for packaging chemicals, semiconductor production and ultrapure water pipelines. Polyvinylidene fluoride is also used for packaging films, gear wheels, membranes and laminations for outdoor applications, depending on thermal pre-treatment.
